When writing your ebook you may find yourself becoming critical of what you have written. Do not let your "inner critic" change or alter the work you are doing. It is much more important to get your ebook completed first before editing or critiquing anything you have written. Here are some tips on how to keep writing when you get to the point where you want to make changes.
Promise yourself that you will keep writing until you at a specific point in your ebook. This may be at the end of a chapter or at the end of a section you are working on. No matter what, just keep writing until that part is finished.
Give yourself at least a day after you have finished your chapter or section before going back and rereading it. Even then, do not make any changes unless they are minor ones, such as grammar or punctuation changes.
When you do go in to edit your work, remember that you are seeing it with different eyes when you begin to make changes. Do not be critical of yourself or your writing. Try to remember how good it felt when you were writing it for the first time.
Find someone with a background in writing or editing to look at your writing after you have completed the first edit. Make sure this is someone you trust to do a good job of being objective about any changes or suggestions for changes to your ebook.
After you have gone through the writing and editing process a few times, you will be able to see what changes need to be made while you are still in the process of writing the first draft. This will save you time as you work towards completion of your ebook.Visit http://www.EbookWritingandMarketingSecrets.com to join me for free weekly teleseminars on writing and technology.
