While you are writing your ebook, offer chapters to friends and associates who you think would be happy to read your material.
When your ebook is completed, find people who you think would benefit from your information. Depending on your niche, you may have to do some research to find these people.
Call these people or write to their physical address when asking for their testimonial. Simply sending an email may not work in this case. A telephone call to their office or a handwritten note sent in the mail will have more impact.
For all of these people, you will need to offer them a free copy of your ebook. Give them some time to read it and make use of the information.
Wait for a few weeks and see if anyone contacts you about your information. With friends and family members, wait about two weeks and then ask them to tell you what they thought.
When people are finally ready to give you their testimonial, make sure that it is based on measurable results. It is much better if someone can give quantitative results, telling how much more business they had over a period of time, how much weight they lost, or how their relationship improved over time after reading your ebook and applying your recommendations to their particular situation.
Always ask permission before using anyone's name or picture in your ebook or on your website.
I also encourage you to think of your own creative ways to get testimonials you can honestly use to promote and sell your ebook.
