Are you really prepared for an Interview ?

Interview is the threshold for your final entry in an organization. In addition to brush up with your skills it is always an add-on to acquaint yourself with some common interview questions that are always a head start in any face to face meeting.

Below listed are some of the common interview questions have a look and decide are you really prepared for an interview round:

Tell me something about yourself ?

This is the head start of any interview. But please do not take it as liberty of telling your history to the interviewer. Be short and crisp in your reply. Try to focus on your qualification, job, experience, recent work history. Make your answer aligned to your career objective.

Why should we hire you ?

This question is to squeeze juice out of you. This is a very tricky question but wants a very different approach. While replying to this answer, focus on your assets and achievements and correlate these to the current organizational needs. Also pour out your positive traits that depict you as a team player, hard working and dedicated to job profile.


What do you know about your company ?

With this question they are testing your knowledge about the profile you have applied for. This is a must to do exercise. Never appear for an interview without doing homework at your part. Reply this answer relating to the research done by you in the organization’s key areas, its products, its market presence and many others.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Do not pour answers like my family is my strength and my temper is my weakness. Be mature in responding. To reply back your strengths focus on keywords like team player, good learner, dedicated, can sustain pressure and many others. Please do not pour out your weaknesses as such, try correlating them with positive aspect of yourself. While replying be diplomatic like you never want to skip deadlines and this could be sometimes troublesome for your other team members.


Why do you want to work for us ?

This question does not need a detail of yourself but a focused reply. They want to judge whether you are intelligent enough to judge the right job for yourself or not. Focus on the key areas of the organizations and show your interest in those areas. Also show your knowledge in those areas and relate your abilities to it. Relate your wish to long term career goals.

What are your expectations ?

They are asking for the compensation. Be polite enough to put your point forward but do not underestimate. It will be good enough that you keep it negotiable but keep negotiations from both the sides. It should not be all company say and you hearing or vice versa. You can never anticipate the questions that you can face in an interview but it good be a god warm up for you.
