A major way to maintain a non-toxic lifestyle is to avoid junk and processed food. Sure it is easy to grab a take-out, but there are always healthy alternatives that are simple to prepare. Aim to eat at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day, and drink plenty of filtered water.

Limit your intake of red meat, refined foods (e.g. white rice, white bread), coffee and alcohol. You can choose healthy wholefood alternatives that have a higher nutritional value. You should try to eat a good variety of foods each day so that you get a rounded intake of vitamins and minerals.


Changing your lifestyle can also help cut down on body toxins. Avoid recreational drugs such as cocaine and cannabis. You should not stop taking prescription medicines without consulting your doctor.

Taking part in regular physical exercise can promote well-being of the mind as well as the body. You don't have to join a gym to become more active. Walk to the shops instead of driving and climb the stairs instead of taking the lift. Going for a regular brisk walk, swimming and cycling are also excellent ways of improving the efficiency of your heart. Exercise has also been shown to release endorphins, which give us a feeling of well-being and contentment.
