It has been long speculated that Sony Ericsson will add another line to their G-series. They really did with the announcement of the upcoming release of two new phones the G700 and the G900.
The two are Smartphones that run on the Symbian OS technology and are fitted with an easy to use touch screen interface. The G700 in particular is bathed in silken bronze and is the epitome of style meeting function and fun and flexibility all at once. It has great features to boot like the Sticky Note function that allows the user to post notes on the main screen of the phone. It is also equipped with a secondary 3G camera as well as some practical Media options.
However, like with any phone, there seems to be a few things that the G700 is missing on. For starters, let us talk about the camera. The 3.2 megapixel capability is impressive enough, but the phone is not equipped with autofocus like the G900 is. The flash on the G700 is also quite substantial, but users are left wanting for the illumination power of the Xenon Flash.

One thing that is absent in the G700 is Wi-Fi Connectivity. With that feature, it would have been easier to access the internet anytime and anywhere there is Wi-Fi access. Another complaint is with regards to the design. The back of the phone unfortunately looks rather cheap and unfinished – but that is only a matter of taste after all.
Another thing is the stylus, although it has a dedicated slot that is quite inconspicuous, the stylus length is still quite lacking and feels rather short. It may have been better if it was telescopic or collapsible.
Besides a few fallbacks when it comes to design and features, the G700 is still reasonably a solid Smartphone that is affordable and looks conservative enough for any businessperson looking for a new phone.
