With Nokia seemingly steamrolling the mobile phone market with the release of mobile phones that are light years ahead of its competitors, it seems that there is little hope for the likes of Motorola, Sony Ericsson and even Samsung. It seems that no matter what they produce, Nokia always releases a handset that is just a little bit better. This has been demonstrated time and again and 2008 seems to be no different with the release of the Nokia N96. This article attempts to expose the incredible technology behind this wonderful smart phone and should help you to decide as to whether or not you should purchase one.

The immediate difference between the Nokia N96 and The N95 is the built in digital TV tuner. This is a first for any mobile phone. Now you can watch TV wherever you are and whenever you want. This is a step forward technologically as no other manufacturer has ever managed to achieve such a feat. The quality of the TV images is still relatively unknown, but more information will become available nearer to its release date in Q3 of 2008. At the time of writing it is also unknown as to whether or not this rather remarkable feature will be available in the UK.

The N96 will come with 16GB of internal memory, this is 8GB more than both the current iphone and the N95 8GB. The phone's memory is also expandable via a micro SD slot that can hold an extra 8GB of data via the SD card. This means that the N96 can potentially store up to 24GB of data, enough for 60 hours of video or TV footage. The screen is also an impressive size, weighing in at 2.8 inches, it is one of the biggest screens in the smart phone marketplace. It is not quite as big as the iphone and sadly lacks the touch screen that everyone is so desperate for, but as with all mobile devices, it is all about compromise. With the N96 you don't compromise very much and you get a very capable mobile phone.
