The Nokia N95 8GB is a dual slide phone which it makes use of in panoramic view or vertical. At one end of the phone you get a recognisable keypad that slides out giving you the standard phone look and usage. Then at the other end you get a smaller keypad which slides out to produce 4 buttons to use in the panoramic view with the multimedia aspects of the phone. As a phone, the N95 8GB has exactly what you would expect, SMS and MMS messaging, Bluetooth technology (as well as IR which is much less common these days), alarm clock, calculator and the list goes on. The phone doesn’t really add anything new but what it does is to do it in a very user friendly way by giving you a very easy to navigate menu system.

The real fun with the Nokia N95 8GB starts when we look at the multimedia extras it has built in. As you can tell from its name, the N95 8GB has a very large storage capacity which comes in very useful when you find out what it is capable of. You can use it to listen to music, watch movies, play video games, browse the internet and even find out where you are via an in built GPS system. With the amount of space offered by the N95 you are never likely to fill it in the foreseeable future which is a good thing because it is not actually possible to upgrade the memory.

The only other downside to the phone is the camera which is an impressive 5 megapixels and when displayed on the 2.8 inch screen in 16 million colors is initially breath taking but when you start taking picture after picture you begin to notice that there is a delay from taking the picture to it appearing on the screen which can get rather annoying. This is only likely to bother you though if you take an awful lot of pictures and the average user won’t even notice. Aside from that I have nothing bad to say about this phone, in fact I find myself singing its praises because in every other aspect it is as close to perfect as you’re going to get.
