Translation As A Sign Of Quality

As the business competition is getting tougher a great amount of intelligence and strategy is needed to make progress in international markets. "The customer is clever and democratic" and vendors should never forget this, if they want to survive in the long run.

Customers as everybody else like to be treated respectfully and in their own mother language. En England English, In Spain Spanish, In Japan Japanese, in China Chinese and so on. There is no questioning about this and we should do likewise no matter how minor or localized the language is. Every customer prefers to make deals in his own language, in the language he feels most at ease. Communicate the message in that language and the customer will be pleased and thankful for that. The clever customer, and most of them are clever, knows the vendor is doing that extra effort to please him; this is added value and a clear sign of quality. By translating a document you are giving an additional argument to the buyer to choose your product or service. By translating the document you win his heart, you incite him to vote for you. This is pure democracy, adapt to the customer and he will vote for your product when confronted with the huge array of products and services competing against you in the international arena.

Do not underestimate the minor languages when considering translation, native speakers of those languages often feel their language at risk in this global economy and will value your effort towards their language even more. By doing this you are creating a healthy give and take relationship, where the customer perceives you care about his language and culture and is ready to reciprocate.

You can experiment by yourself by not following my advice. Learning the hard by is the best way, but unfortunately time and resources are limited and it is much better to learn the smart way than not the hard way. Make no mistake about this.

Excellent translation to get ahead of competition is essential in this very competitive and global world. Translations that will get the message across very clearly and reach the heart of the audience. The future of many projects depends on how well we communicate. Translation is a very powerful weapon that brings a lot of good to the user and harms nobody. These days huge amounts of money are lost due to lack of proper communication. A good market translation is a good investment not an expense. Speaking the customer's language is a clear sign of quality and is perceived as such by many customers.
