Basic Styles of Hair Pieces

For men who do not want to undergo medical procedures to fight hair loss, they can go for hair replacement system. This is a non-surgical method that uses hair pieces and toupees. There are four basic styles for hairpieces that can be seen in the market. This includes: full lace base system, the lace front base system, full skin base system, and the conventional base system.

Full lace base system are toupees or wigs where its base are made up of entirely mesh. In general, full lace base systems are regarded as the most natural appearing of hairpieces, but they are also the most fragile and will require repairs and replacement fairly frequently.

The lace front system has mesh along the hairline and on its front. So far, this system will be more durable while still appearing natural but the use of the two materials causes the sensation of a bump when you run your fingers through your hair.

The full skin base system uses polymer in its entire base. The durability of a full skin base system is superior, but the hairpieces do not breathe and are hot.

The conventional system uses mesh fabric at the top with a polyurethane perimeter along the hairline. The conventional base system is an old standard but does not offer the same standard of natural appearance, especially at the hairline. This is usually less preferred.

These hair pieces may wear out in time so certain maintenance is needed. Attaching it to the already balding hair needs to be done by experts to avoid more problems in the remaining hair or unfavorable effects to appearance. In time, users can simply shift hair pieces if they want to.
