In some cases it is perfectly possible to devote a couple of minutes to a certain task and then be promoting your website every single day for the foreseeable future, totally free of charge – and all for the sake of a couple of minutes work.
One such way is by adding a signature to the end of every email you send to other people. It doesn’t matter whether you are replying to an email from a friend, answering a question someone has asked via your website, or even sending a query to your bank manager – all of those emails could contain a tiny little ad for your website without any effort from you.
The real key to making the most of this method is to be very careful what you put in that signature line. There is no reason why you can’t add a couple of paragraphs to the end of every email, but how likely is it that they will be read by the majority of people who receive them? Consider what the best way would be to attract attention; after all it’s not enough to get as many people as possible to read your signature line, you need to get a high proportion of them to click through to your website as well.
To this end you should try and restrict yourself to a simple line or two – that should be plenty to get your point across. But don’t fall into the trap of putting something along the lines of ‘please come and visit my site at…’ because that simply doesn’t entice people to step away from what they’re doing for a minute or so to have a look at your website.
What you need is to intrigue them in some way. Make it virtually impossible for them not to check out your site. One good way of doing this is to make the signature line specific in some way. For example if your site is all about making money from home, don’t put something vague like ‘to find out how to change your life by working from home, visit my site at…’
Be more specific instead. Most people’s eyes are caught by the sight of numbers, so put something like ‘I make $273 a day working from home. Do you want to know how? Click here…’
That’s quite basic but it gives you the general idea. Just be sure that any claims you make can be backed up by fact. It’s also important to make sure that people can relate to what you are saying. Not many people can relate to making a million dollars a month, but $273 seems attainable and workable.
Just remember that you have a real chance to connect with people in your signature line, so make the most of it.
