Every year, the diet industry earns millions of dollars from un-savvy consumers who are desperate to lose weight. Diet fads, true to their name, are numerous and short-lived.

There are a few reasons why diets don’t offer a permanent solution to weight loss. The most obvious one is that diets don’t reflect the way people will continue to eat the rest of their lives. It’s just not reasonable. Once the diet is over, people revert to their previous eating habits and any progress made during the diet period is usually lost.
