Its ultra slim design is at the height of minimalism, measuring only 12.9 millimeters, this Ultra Edition phone embodies luxury combined with elegance and style. Magic Touch Interface is made possible by the touch navigation feature which changes icons based on Menu selections. The Samsung Soul prides itself with a multi-functionality design, having a camera with a whopping 5 mega pixel, face-detection WDR optimizer feature that lets you take pictures with a built-in image stabilizer. It’s a hip and cool phone with audio technology perfected using Bang and Olufsen amp ICE power.

Its connectivity packs a punch with its massive storage capacity and super fast speed of up to 7 mbps. The only reason it may not be awarded 5 stars just yet is the fact that it’s only tri-band, something consumers hoped Samsung will improve on in the future. More so, even though the Samsung Soul boasts of the fastest HSDPA variant of its kind, you may not always enjoy this feature if your network could not support it.

But there’s no doubt that the Soul is a next-generation mobile phone. The sleek and stylish design is made of metal, bestowing the Soul a superior quality feel and you will definitely appreciate the fact that your thumb can rest comfortably and firmly on the bottom of the slide.

A Magic Touch Interface, you say? Yes. But there’s no magic in there. The reason why Samsung is apt on marketing the Soul this way is due to its touch sensitive screen beneath the main LCD display. It’s driven by icons that vary based on the Menu chosen. At the forefront of its design is the 16 million color display feature - a first in all Samsung phones.

Although it may be said that the Soul is one head-turner, it doesn’t have the best camera unlike the leading camera by Nokia N95. Even though the camera has an auto-focus anti-shake technology, resolution may not be at its best.

So, is the Samsung Soul up to the hype this 2008? I definitely think so.
