When we first started out on doing something, there will always be uncertainty. This applies to affiliate marketing as well. One of the most difficult parts about affiliate marketing actually is learning how to build a website. There are a lot of people, including myself, did not know anything about website design when we first started out affiliate marketing on the internet.

What I did was to go out to the library to borrow books that taught me the basics of website design or bookstore and buy a book that taught me the basics of website design. I'm not a technical person but it only took me about one weekend to really learn how to design a website, at least it is enough so that I could put a page on the Internet. Since that time, I've improved on my website design but I still keep that old site around just to remember where I came from.

Having so many templates that are available on the internet definitely make building a website rather simple. Adding the affiliate data into the website, can be quite difficult depending on how you go about it. For example, many people like to add the product manually and separately onto their web pages. This is an excellent way to do it provided you are creative enough to write your own descriptions. There is a better way, however, that many affiliate merchants offer that will do the same thing automatically.

The larger merchants often contain a data stream that allows you to automatically insert all of their products onto your web pages. Some of these streams are customizable so that you can keep them limited to certain specific niches. You can easily insert these data streams anywhere on your page that you want by putting a little bit of code onto your website. It is an excellent way to offer multiple products inside one particular theme. In doing this you should be aware that there is a danger.

There are thousands of other affiliates out there who are doing the same thing as what you are doing. You are in danger of being penalized for duplicate content if you are using the same content on your website as they are. This can cut off any free traffic that you are receiving and really hurt you in the search engine rankings. You can overcome the duplicate content penalty altogether, if you write a little bit of original content for on these pages.
