There are two questions and the answers to these questions help the user to choose the right way. These answers are not so evident and depends on user’s Internet usage typology.
First of all: we can use a freeware software or we must buy “something” to have a better protection? If Internet connection is used to read the newspapers or to send and receive e-mails to and from friends (without opening mails from unknown senders), a freeware software is very good, but if the connection uses advanced Internet features, interacts with forum, chat, or in some way with unknown people, freeware software is not enough.
Second question is: we can choose an all-in-one security software or we must buy specific programs? Here, by experience, I observe that efficiency of every all-in-one security software (of reasonable price) is quite similar to the efficiency of freeware products. Than I absolutely recommend specific software.
