It has always been a concern of kids, teenagers and adults that braces tend to have a social impact in their lives while helping them reshape and acquire a beautiful smile. Traditional braces are made out of metal, metal can be easily spotted in a person's mouth which is where the aesthetic problem lies, in order to address this issue the technologies have been developed in order to replace the old and obvious set of braces.

According to a 20 year long study published in the British Journal of health psychology, 1000 Welsh children who wore braces from their early years old the way into their 20s set not to have had serious social complications as a direct result of wearing braces, they also said that wearing these oral contraptions didn't help them and improve their self-esteem convert to other Welsh children who could qualifid for braces but did not use them.

Regardless of how braces can affect a person's behavior or self-esteem more and more people agree that they would much rather use braces which are nearly invisible to the more obvious metal braces.

Invisalign

The most popular brand of invisible braces is obviously Invisalign, the functionality of this oral fixture is not compromise by its appearance in other words, they are just as effective as a metal ones.

One of the main differences between Invisalign and metal braces is that the first uses 3-D technology in order to trace and depict the right course of action from the very beginning of the treatment until the moment the teeth assume the desired position.

Yet another advantage of this new technology comparedt to metal braces is that they are removable, this way a person can enjoy a delicious meal without worrying that the braces will get in the way, removable braces also allow for easy cleaning, brushing and flossing of the teeth. Even though Invisalign is removable it is not recommended to leave them off for an extended period of time due to the fact that such treatment heavily relies in the extended periods that a person is able to wear them.
