The internet is the information highway. We have heard this slightly overused phrase so many times that it should be nominated for the Amazing Internet Click Award. Howbeit though, the internet indeed is the information highway. There is no denying it. 24/7 year round, people from every lifestyle go to the internet in search of information. That is what brought you to this article -- you were searching for information. Right!

It is this quest for information that has brought us to where we presently are in this unfolding saga and taught us the true secrets of Search Engine Optimization. In response, articles of every subject matter are continuously emerging to appease the relentless pursuit of information -gathering Search Engines. Web Masters, seeing this trend and recognizing it as a free source of traffic, are in constant search for fresh quality informational articles to display on their respective web sites. They have learned that if they appease the search engines they will be rewarded with increased traffic flow and earn more income. Where does that place you? At a very advantageous position, if you are a writer, a web master or affiliate. You can use your articles to drive a relentless flow of traffic to your own web site or affiliate link, increasing exposure to your products and /or services, and thus earn a substantial income for your endeavor.

Regardless of what you write about, chances are favorable there is a Web Master out there somewhere looking to feature it and other articles of numerous topics. When a website visitor reads the articles they have searched for, they can find at the end of the article a resource box they can click on to link them to the site that submitted the article.

Ideally, the articles you submit for distribution should be irelated to your site, according to one school of thought, but realistically, an article on any subject can provide benefits of inestimable value. You see, people are always looking for that something they want - oftentimes they may not even consciously know what it is -- it could very well turn out to be the product and/or service they see at your web site. Suppose though, that the article is in relation to the products and services on display at your web site. As an example, let us say your article is about how to build a birdhouse in 30 minutes. At the end of the article, you should include a resource box that links to your site. People interested in birdhouses would click the link and automatically redirected to your web site to view your product and /or services.

A resource box is what you find at the end of an article. It will contain the name of the author, a brief description of the author, and a hyper-link to the author's web site. If a reader likes what they read, they would have the tendency to visit the author's web site. Since the resource box encompasses only a small space, providing the right keywords and content for your resource box will provide more prodding for the reader to go to your site.

Now we know what resource boxes are, but what are the benefits of having a good resource box? Primarily it is to drive more traffic to your site and increase your income. As already seen, many sites will display your articles on in their sites because articles provide quality content that improves search engine ratings resulting in more traffic to their sites. The resource box at the end of the article is what gets people to click on your link and generate potential-customer traffic to your site.

So what would be a good content for your resource box? It is keywords - - learning about and including the proper keywords that people are mainly searching for. That is what you put into your resource box. You only get a small space for your resource box, usually four lines maximum, so you had better make the most of it. Provide content in your resource box that catches attention and makes your readers want to take closer look, but do not mislead your potential website visitors. Always include content that will help build your credibility so that more people would get enticed to visit your site and browse what you have to offer. Make the people click your resource box by providing resource box content that makes a lasting impression.

Never underestimate the power of the resource box. It may be small but in importance, it is comparable to a ships rudder and if it is interesting will guide traffic right to your web site.
