In this brief article, I want to talk about a simple way to keep from having to go on an IM diet and possibly destroying any online progress you have made thus far.
The simplest way to handle the IM diet issue is to stay focused. If you are anything like me, and I mean entrepreneurial wise, you attempt to handle every aspect of your online business yourself. This is not such a major problem until the entrepreneurial handicap of trying to do it all comes into play.
Almost everyone I know who has a ‘true’ entrepreneurs spirit is constantly trying to broaden the scope of what they are doing online. Testing this script, trying this technique, building a new domain every week, these are the habits, left unchecked that cause many marketers to loose focus and forces them, eventually to begin dieting.
For the budding marketer who may be reading this article, my advice to you, from experience, is to create a plan of attack before you ever start your online marketing career. The simpler the plan the better, especially if you possess the ‘spirit’ mentioned above, because no matter how simple or well laid out your plan is, the entrepreneur in you will broaden it and make a general mess of it all.
In order to keep focus you need to design your plan in such a way that the foundations of it will most likely not change very much, just the add-ons, so to speak. This way, when you see things careening out of control, you can easily delete an added plan, goal or campaign and still be generally focused and on track.
I can say this from personal experience, that you will get attached to your endeavors online as if they were your own children but you must remember the bottom line, Making Money!
You can say that your want to learn, to help, or whatever else other marketers are saying today but the sole reason for starting any business is to make money. That is your focus and that is your most major goal, don’t loose track of it.
My final suggestion
Create a plan and start with a free domain to learn on and once you have that making money, repeat the process with your own domain. Also, I would suggest that you purchase a domain name, when the time comes, that is as close to your real name as possible to brand yourself. You can try out all the tricks, tactics and campaigns you want from one domain, it doesn’t take a hundred - trust me.
