“Do you have a website?” This is not the talk of the web today. Infact – “Do you have Website with a Clear Purpose or Not?” this is what is being talked about the maximum at the Web Family these days.

Generally, when someone decides to have a website, then, at initial stage of design and development one does have an idea of what purpose the website will be fulfilling, but, as the process gets into depth, the main purpose, in most of the cases, gets undermined and the website looses its direction.

As it is said - For succeeding in life you need to focus at a purpose!! Similarly, a Successful website can not be created without having Proper Focus at the Purpose of the Website.

The greatest example of – How Focusing at a Clear Purpose can lead to a Successful Website is - Google!! Even today when we type google at our browser then, only a – single – prominent text box is displayed – reflecting the clear purpose it is made for, that is, to Search!!

A clear and specific purpose of a website can do wonders to it. The greatest advantage of having a clear purpose is that it becomes easy to decide what will be there at website and what not. Many decisions, esp. related to website design and development, become easy when we have a clear purpose, which the website is expected to fulfill, in our mind.

The greatest threat, leading to a website loosing its direction is - when we start falling in love with our website and we try making it rich by including everything in it. But remember, a good recipe is not the one which includes every spice in it, rather it is the one which has the right amount of what is required!! Do fall in love with your website, but please don’t cripple it and make it lose its mission or purpose.

So, before you decide to go for a website, please do ask yourself that what purpose you want this website to serve. If possible, make a note of the purpose and keep it with you and, whenever in future, you take any decision related to the web design do take a look at the purpose and check - If you are moving in the right direction or Is your website heading towards loosing its purpose.
