CAREER
In June 2008,
Patrick Boyce was promoted to his current position of Chief Financial Officer after serving as the firm's Chief Administrative Officer since March 2007. He has been with Highland since March 2004, where he began as a Distressed Portfolio Analyst and was promoted to Distressed Portfolio Manager in September 2005. His promotion to Chief Financial Officer at Highland is the latest step in Patrick Boyce's successful 15-year career in the financial services industry.
Before joining Highland, Boyce worked for Citigroup Global Markets. He was a founding member and Vice President of the Dallas office for the company's Global Investment Banking group where he worked from 2000-2004. Prior to his work with Citigroup, Boyce worked for Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. As an Investment Banking professional, he worked in both the Los Angeles and Dallas offices, focusing primarily on leveraged finance and merger and acquisition transactions for financial sponsor clients.
Boyce's career in Finance began as a Corporate Banking Analyst in 1993. While working in the Southwest Corporate Division of Nations Bank in Dallas he focused primarily on leveraged loans. From there, in 1994, he moved onto Sanwa Bank, which was one of the five largest banks in the world at the time. He worked at Sanwa until 1995 as a Senior Banking Officer.
EDUCATION
Patrick Boyce graduated from Baylor University in 1993 with a BBA in Finance. As an undergraduate student, he was a Teagle Scholar and also a member of the NCAA golf team. In the fall of 1995, Patrick Boyce enrolled at the
University of Chicago's Graduate School of Business and successfully completed his MBA in Finance and Accounting. In 1998, while a resident of Illinois, Boyce successfully completed all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination and in 2005 earned the right to use the
Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
PERSONAL
Patrick Boyce was born in Houston, Texas. His family lived in Katy, Texas until he was five before moving to Hawkins, Texas. With his family, Boyce eventually moved back to Katy, where he graduated from Katy High School in 1989.
Patrick Boyce has been an active contributor to
Student Venture, a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. In addition to contributing to the general operating fund for Student Venture, Boyce's contributions have funded International Mission trips during which high school- and college-aged students conduct "English camps" for teenagers in other countries, as well as speak in schools.
