Mopeds have been around for years as a form of cheap transport. They are also cheap to buy, normally don't need a driving licence to ride (depending on where you live) and have been, for a couple of generations at least, the first form of motorised transport you are allowed to own as a youngster. Some people progress to motorbikes or cars from owning a moped. Some are quite happy with them for years and some, of course, go back to them even though they have a car as well.

What is a moped? Well, depending upon where you live, it is normally classed as a motor vehicle with two wheels of under 50cc capacity with a top speed of 30mph or less. It may look like a scooter to you but it may be classed as a moped by some states. It may look like a small motorbike but be similarly classed as a moped.

In the USA moped sales have been increasing rapidly in the past few years. Many people have got sick of sitting in traffic on the way to work every day in their cars and have sought a way round this. Many others have realised that the price of gas is unlikely to go down and are looking for a cheaper option. Still others just like the freedom of being to get around without parking hassles and at the same time using it at the weekend for leisure activities.

If you're a regular at the local baseball or football ground you know what the queues and parking are like. Try a moped. It will save you an awful lot of aggravation.

Mopeds have been a feature of European personal transport for almost 60 years, and the Far East, South America and much of the rest of the world were not far behind in following this example. Particularly in countries where gas has historically been expensive and wages low the moped has been the answer.

Now it is possible to take advantage of the freedom of your own moped very cheaply in the USA. More and more people are realising that mopeds are very cheap to run in these days of high gas prices, and they are also very cheap to buy.

The type of moped available 50 years ago is now considered as a collectors' item by keen fans, but the difference in the machines available today is astonishing. Top class technology and styling is a matter of course these days, and the technical know-how and expertise put into every facet of modern machines means that reliability and longevity is assured, even in the smallest of mopeds.

Outlets for moped and scooter sales in the USA abound but some are cheaper than others. GS motorworks gives outstanding value and service wherever you happen to live in the US. Join the other switched-on people and get a moped or scooter. You will be hooked on it more quickly than you imagine.
