1) Research free article reprint websites

Every week you need to make an article that you have written freely available for publication on other websites. This could exponentially increase your exposure and greatly improve your inbound linking. Start by looking at free article reprint websites such as EzineArticles.com and ArticleCity.com. Use this to get a feel for the kind of articles that other websites are looking to publish. Have a look at how many times the various articles have been viewed or downloaded and take the opportunity to get a few ideas of subjects to write about.

2) Write in your own voice

You don't have to be the best author in the world to write and publish articles. Simply think about what you know and what other people would be interested in finding out more about. Don't try and use words that are unfamiliar to you. You'll loose your personality and be less likely to gain kudos. Write in your 'own voice'.

3) Article writing tips

Each article should be around 500 words. Much less and you won't be covering your topic in enough depth and other websites won't want to feature your article. Much more and the reader will 'skim' rather than read, and be much less likely to click on your website link. Try and include sub-headings, and keep your sentences and paragraphs concise. Ensure that your title is relevant to your article content.

4) Submitting your articles

Submit your articles to websites that are popular and industry specific. Make sure that you are credited as original author of the article and that the reprint offers you at least one link back to your website. It's not always the best policy to simply submit your new article to every reprint site going. Many mature websites with a large amount of traffic refuse to entertain articles that are freely available for reprint elsewhere. That's not to say that you can't write articles for them though. Simply wait until you're more established and then contact them personally to volunteer your services.

5) Suggested websites to start submitting your articles to:

ArticleCity.com
BuildYourOwnBusiness.biz
EzineArticles.com
GoArticles.com

There is of course automated article submission software available such as Article Assistance or Article Submitter which could save you a great deal of time.
