The advent of digital cameras has brought about a difference not only in how we take our pictures but also in what we have the ability to do to our photos once taken. Not every person will take a perfect picture every single time, but with digital technology that picture does not have to be wasted. Software is available that can edit your pictures from sitting behind the computer instead of from behind the camera lens.

Kodak EasyShare Freeware. This may be the most well known type of software it is easy to use with people who have just bought a new camera. My wife has this for her new Kodak digital camera.
Infran View - This program is available at no cost and is user friendly. With this specific software you can modify the tone of the graphic along with the way it is taken and crop to your specifications.
Image Force. This is another type of free editing software to edit your photos. This software has a tool that will let you transfer pictures from the digital camera to scanners. This software is also made for modifying your photos and enhancing the looks of the photos.
VCW Photo Editor - Offered as freeware, this program provides many of the basic features as most other programs allowing you to enhance and modify photos.
PhotoFilter - Although this program is simple in its appearance and limited in its features, its strengths are in its user interface and wide selection of image adjustment buttons, effects and filters.
Picture Shark. This free editing program will allow you to write on the photo which you are editing you can actually write on the photo. You can do what every other program can do as well. This is really cool if you want to add something like an autograph look to a picture too.
Picasa - This freeware program comes from Google and is smart software indeed. With its ability to save your pictures according to size and how you name them, finding the picture you want to edit is quick and easy. Just drop the selected photo stored on your computer into the editing area of the software to begin your modifications.
Serif Photo Plus - This programs comes complete with many tools offered in other programs such as cropping, enhancing, slicing and many more.
ADG Panorama Version 5.0 - While this program offers the same editing functions, it also offers the ability to be able to edit 360 degrees around the photo you are working with.
