Finpecia is the first and only FDA-approved pill demonstrated to treat male pattern hair loss on the vertex (top of head) and anterior mid-scalp area (middle front of head) in men only. There is not sufficient evidence that Finpecia works for receding hairlines at the temples.

Pregnant women are advised not to handle crushed or broken pills of Finpecia as it could be absorbed through the skin. The drug is known to cause birth defects in the unborn baby. However, exposure to whole tablets is not considered that harmful as long as they are not swallowed.

The pill should be consumed with full glass of water as directed by the doctor or your health professional. It can be taken with or without food, but should be taken regularly.

Like other drugs in these categories, Finpecia is known to have some side effects like: decreased libido, Decrease in the volume of ejaculate, trouble getting or keeping erection.
