Another important point to consider when looking for an auto transport company is whether the prospective company is asking for you to prepay a deposit or not. Often we receive calls from people who have paid a deposit to a company that didn’t pick up their car and won’t give them back their deposit. Typically these companies who require a deposit also have the “best rate.” However, what they tend to do is sub contract your car at a price lower than the expected rate. This simply means that the car becomes the last priority to the trucker and if he finds a better paying car will simply cancel your car and take another one leaving you waiting. To prevent this from happening, your best two options for payment are either to pay a deposit after the vehicle is loaded on the truck and the balance to the driver on delivery, or pay the entire amount on delivery. Either way is totally acceptable and safe, after your vehicle is on the truck he is responsible to deliver.
