You can save yourself thousands of dollars if you buy a memory foam mattress topper for your existing mattress and you can save hundreds more if you buy an Isotonic mattress topper. For its price, this has to be one of the best mattress toppers on the market today.

We've all heard about the therapeutic benefits of visco-elastic foam - usually referred to as memory foam. However, they don't come cheap and many simply can't afford to replace our existing mattresses. This is where buying a memory foam mattress topper can be the best solution. There are many brands on the market but if you're looking for a bargain I'd suggest you take a serious look at the isotonic mattress cover.

It's made from 100% visco-elastic foam and is 2" thick. Most manufacturers produce 2 or 4 inch versions. It's quilted with a 200 thread count 100% cotton cover and fits neatly under conventional fitted sheets and has an elasticized skirt to fit mattresses up to 15" thick.

Without doubt the most compelling reason for buying an Isotonic memory foam topper is its price - it's a fraction of the cost of the Tempur-Pedic mattress topper. But apart from price there is one major difference between the two: the isotonic topper is made from 4lb visco-elastic foam whereas the Tempur-Pedic I made using 5lb density.

This is where you need to deice on what your needs are and how firm your current mattress feels. Basically the lighter the density, the softer the support offered by the topper. If your current mattress is firm then a 4lb topper is probably ideal; you'll get the right mixture of both support and comfort. However, if your mattress is soft, then you should opt for a higher density foam topper like the Tempur-Pedic.

Another thing to consider is that the Isotonic only comes in a thickness of 2 inches. If your mattress is very firm, you may prefer a topper that is 4 inches thick. But again, the Isotonic could be a good option as you could buy two toppers to give you a 4" thick topper; the price would still be considerably cheaper than the equivalent Tempur-Pedic version.

If you're looking for a cheap but good quality mattress topper then you should definitely take a look at Isotonic - they're cheaper and, in my opinion, if your current mattress is firm they're as good as a Tempur-Pedic mattress topper.

Follow the links for the Isotonic mattress topper and compare it to the Tempur-Pedic mattress topper. You can also read many mattress reviews on today's leading brands.
