Without delving to deep into what this is, at the core of the weight loss plan is the use of green tea incorporated into ones diet to lose X amount of pounds.

Sounds good, right? Drink some herbal tea and watch the fat just shred off your bones.

Well, it doesn’t quite work that way. Just like any other magic weight loss pill or extract, green tea is merely a supplement to a good weight loss plan- it’s not the end all solution. Green tea, green tea extract and green tea powder (Matcha) all contain thermogenic properties that do speed up the metabolism of individuals that partake in the green tea. Although these thermogenic properties are present, there isn’t enough of them to allow your intake of green tea to completely help you lose weight.


So when you see people who claim to have lost weight on the green tea diet, ask them the following questions: Did you stop drinking coffee and start drinking green tea? This is important because the switch to green tea means that they’re substituting out coffee, creamers, and sugar for a healthy all natural substance. Ask them if they’re doing any exercise or if they have more energy? This is important because the beneficial effects of exercising far outweigh any ingestion of fat burning ingrediants. And lastly, ask them if they’re drinking plenty of water and getting at least 6-8 hours of sleep. Sleep is an often times overlooked component of weight loss so it’s important that sleep is factored into the amount of weight lost.


And lastly, ask someone who is on a green tea diet cycle if they’re eating better. By simply cutting out junk food, fatty substances and eating 3-5 times a day in smaller amounts, a person could lose a lot of weight that by simply taking green tea by itself. This isn’t conjecture, but solid scientific proof.

In summary, the use of green tea incorporated into a better lifestyle of nutrition does pan out to provide a good fat burning effect. It’s used in conjunction with other healthy ingredients in a weight loss plan. By itself, not so much. That is why you need to look at green tea as just another component to your weight loss plan. It’s easy to do as green tea is a great tasting drink. I’m sure once you change your perception of how to use green tea, the pounds will start to fly off!
