For some figuring out how to shed those extra pounds in the body remains to be a great mystery. And whatever you may think, losing weight is not a mysterious process that involves you taking a special diet, buying fitness gadgets, or even taking those pills that promise instant results.

As a matter of fact there are no secrets on how to lose weight in a week. Of course a healthy balanced diet and exercise is what fitness and nutritionist will say if you are into losing weight. But how to go about this advice sometimes becomes a challenge that everyone failed to follow.

• First of all set small realistic goal; if you have a lot of weight to shed aim for 5 pounds a week weight loss.

• Second, start a regular exercise program, like walking, dancing or biking. The most important thing is for you to be active. Chose exercises that you enjoy doing and add variety to your workout routine so that you will not tire and be bored easily.


• Third, learn to choose healthy balanced meals that are rich in fiber and vitamins and learn to prepare them the healthy way.

• Fourth, keep a diary of your entire food intake and why you ate those kinds of food.
• Fifth, learn to eat more and in smaller portions. Small frequent eating lessens calorie intake more than eating three large meals daily. And don’t forget to reward yourself if you achieve your goal in a week. It may be a great new pair of jeans.

The bottom line is weight loss does take time but you can jumpstart your diet by following an effective diet and a really good workout program. The key to effective weight loss is having the right mindset and being ready to do the work. So let's get going!
