There are women who have never had a yeast infection or experience only one or two during their lifetime. Others are bothered by yeast only during a certain part of the menstrual cycle. Then there are those women who experience a yeast infection multiple times a year and have difficulty clearing up the problem, and if you fit into several of the following categories, you may be one of those people.

You may be at risk for repeated bouts of yeast infection if you:

  • Have had several pregnancies.
  • Have taken birth control pills.
  • Eat foods that contain excessive amounts of sugar and yeast.
  • Feel extremely fatigued or suffer from excessive body aches, and different treatments haven't helped or the cause cannot be readily identified.
  • Have taken antibiotics over a long period of time.
  • Crave alcoholic beverages, breads, or sweet treats.
  • Repeatedly suffer from vaginal discomfort, abdominal pain, or irregularities during your menstrual cycle.
  • Notice a rush of energy after indulging in a sugary treat followed by an immediate onset of fatigue.
  • Notice that your symptoms are worsened by a sweet snack.
  • Suffer from recurrent outbreaks of athlete's foot or fungal infections in your fingernails or toenails.
  • Feel fatigued and achy in moldy locations or on rainy days.
  • Feel ill when in the presence of tobacco smoke or perfumes.
  • Are a diabetic and you don't keep your blood sugar levels under control.
  • Repeatedly suffer from bloating and acid indigestion.
  • Often have trouble with your concentration.
  • Suffer from depression or low self-esteem.
  • Do not follow a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. If you do have a diet lacking fruits and vegetables, you are also at risk if you don't at least take vitamins.
  • You do not brush your teeth regularly. Not only can this lead to tooth decay and gum disease, but can also lead to yeast infection.
  • You are the type of person who sweats profusely.
  • You lead a sedentary lifestyle. A person who exercises regularly would benefit in that their body would be able to fight off infections more easily.

Treating yeast infection can be a long and complicated process. Not only is it painful and annoying, but left untreated, it can be potentially deadly. There are many different types of yeast infections, and the treatment methods can be as varied as the numerous types of afflictions.

Why spend hours and hours tracking down information that may or may not be reliable when you can learn everything you need to know about beating this embarrassing and often painful condition in one spot.
