As you well know there are many ways to find a new job. Some ways are better than others, but if you are needed that new job in a hurry the follow methods may be the way to go.
Nowadays employers get email after email of potential employees looking for a job. Because of this you must grab the attention of your future employer within a few seconds of them opening your email. Grabbing the attention of your potential employer is not as hard as it sounds. In the opening paragraph of your email give an example of something that you accomplished at your past job(s).
Old fashion may be the way to go
Since employers are getting hundreds of emails a day from people looking for a job it might be best to be a little old fashioned and actually call the employer. Not many people do this in this day and age but it can increase your chances tremendously. Calling shows the employer that you are a real person and that you really want the job. A simple phone call checking on your resume that you sent can be a huge selling point for the employer.
Persistence is Key
Always be persistent when looking for a job. It shows that you really want the job and care about your future. Always follow up two or three days after you sent in your resume or filled out an application. This can really make or break your chances with the company.
Confidence is extremely important
When looking for a job you are basically a sales person, this means that you have to be confident in what you are selling. You are selling yourself and confidence is key to getting hired. Only think positive thoughts. You will be amazed at how just thinking positive thoughts will really make a difference to your self-confidence.
As with anything being prepared is important. Be prepared for anything that might be thrown at you. Ask questions about the position available, advancements that you can achieve, and anything else you can think of. This can really open up the employers eyes and let them see that you care.
Also, even if you get turned down do not get stressed out or depressed. Keep moving forward. It is easier to move backward than forward but you will never get anywhere new moving backwards. Good Luck in your search!
