When you have come to the conclusion that God has given you leadership over your company to bring glory to Him and expand His Kingdom on earth, you have been given a key that will open up to many blessings for you and those you serve.

Another way to further your alignment with these Christian principles, would be to team up with an organization such as the Christian Chamber of Commerce in your area. The Christian Chamber of Commerce provides a blueprint and tools to help lead Christian organizations in a manner that is pleasing to God, that honors Him by demonstrating love for and obedience to Him and that serves others in a Christ-like manner. Encouragement, promotion and marketing are also ways in which the Christian Chamber of Commerce offers support to Christian-led businesses.

I'd like to share with you part of a devotion written by one of the Christian Chamber of Commerce -Burnsville, MN members.

The Character of God

Jesus' death and resurrection are vitally important. If Jesus had not lived out the Law and the Prophets through His character, through who He actually was on the inside in His heart, and in doing so fulfilled them, then we would still be measured by that standard and we would fail every time.

But now, when we accept Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf, we gain the benefit of being under the New Covenant that He has made with God. This covenant means not needing to keep a list of what we should or shouldn't do, because we are free from the Law that Jesus fulfilled. However, the fact that we are free from the Law doesn't mean we get to do whatever we want to. It means that we now have the ability and responsibility to live our lives with the same heart and character with which Jesus lived His. We could not live righteously by knowing right from wrong before Jesus, but because of Jesus, we now can have His Holy Spirit living in us and helping us, teaching us step by step, to live with the heart of God.

This is what it means to live a Christian life, and even what it means to be a Christian. This is what the whole Sermon on the Mount is about, and at the end of that sermon we find our promise. Jesus concludes His sermon by saying, "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

The promise of Jesus Christ for everyone who partners with Him through faith and the inner work of the Holy Spirit is that their lives will not fail in the storms of life. Having the character of God - not just living a moral life, but actually having Godly character - is the key to being sure that what we build will last and stand through whatever comes. That's a promise that I'll gladly take - for my life, my family, my business, and my eternity.
