Succeed With These Five Tips

I meet countless people who want better finances, health and / or relationships. Most people who are open to coaching, are also willing to set a goal and work toward the goal. Yet, they are not getting the results they want. What is keeping them from real success, is that they do not have the faith and the will to do that little extra to succeed.

I saw Anja Parson, the famous Swedish downhill skier, win her first World Cup gold in Sweden and realized that what really distinguishes her from many other athletes is that she never gave up when it looked as dismal as it did last winter. I was one of the doubters who thought that now her career and/or her season is over, and there is nothing to do about it.

It looked just as hopeless when Anja spoke with the media, about how difficult everything was with her knee, weather, etc. But somewhere deep inside she never doubted herself, and so she will go down in history as one of the very best downhill skiers the world will ever know.

Both you and I have seen many athletes, but also people in general which may have all the talent to succeed in what they do, but they never make anything out of what they do.

Does this make them worse people for it? Absolutely not, but you and I can have the same results as Anja has within downhill skiing, in our private and working lives, so long as we find out what separates her from the crowd.

Virtually all of the top downhill skiers in the world have the same talent and the same conditions. That which separates Anja from the others is the will to succeed, no matter how bad it may look like on the outside.

For you and me maybe it means to dare to ask for a new job, make ten additional potential customers a day, or to get to the other side of town to go to a sale or taking a course in personal development.

What most people fail at is the fear of making a change. But without standing out there that little extra or to dare to do something new, we are left in the great majority, producing only as average, and performing in a bland manner, year after year. You might say it is ok, but then look into the eyes of those who really realize their dreams regardless of external circumstances, and you understand what makes success and creates even self-esteem.

Here come five tips to help you become the best you can be:

1. Set a goal for where you want to be, regardless of what others are or what your rational thinking says
2. Begin to act towards the goal
3. Do not be discouraged by your own or others' criticism
4. Customize and fine-tune to really get what you want
5. Develop yourself through challenging your fears or limitations which is worth all the trouble and inconvenience in the long run

All those who have gone through the impossible and made it possible, see life in a completely different way. Without this force, we would not have a Nelson Mandela or have a hockey team as great as the Detroit Red Wings.

Good Luck!
