A center of world cinematography, a city called "dream factory", Los Angeles is much more than only than, but it seems almost unreal to get rid of the image created during decades. The concentration of the people desiring to be a movie or a music star exceeds all the possible limits – such atmosphere when every day could become your triumph attracts Americans from other parts of United States and from all over the world.
Los Angeles is a very big city – its area is about 1200 sq. meters and its population is about 3,5 millions (it's the second largest city in USA, after New York). Los Angeles has no single center, and the most of the buildings there are one-storey. The reason of the lack of skyscrapers is the frequent earthquakes.
Spanish sailors found small Indian settlement on the site of the present LA in XVI century and named it California that meant "kingdom". This very village gave the name to the newborn state in 1854. A city of Los Angeles was founded in 1781 on the coast near San Gabriel mountain.

Los Angeles is a city where fashion is born – hair style, design, music – all this creates life style al the rest are attempting to follow.
It's a television center of the United States – the most of the TV shows are done here, the most of the directors, actors and script writers live in LA. It's the place where the standards of the beauty are created.
Los Angeles is also a city of automobile and avia industry. It's one of the main ports of the Pacific Ocean and has one of the biggest international airports.
Los Angeles is a city with cultural heritage – a lot of art museums are open to the public. The most famous of them is San Marino Art Gallery where the Shakespeare's manuscripts are exhibited.
Downtown is the oldest part of the city. It's the place where Los Angeles was born. It's the only district in Los Angeles where you can see skyscrapers. They look especially striking when enlighten at night.

Chinatown is a peace of Orient on the Far West. Chinese small shops with silk, porcelain and jewelry make it a very nice place.
Hollywood is a legendary city of cinema, television and radio. Manns Chinese Theatre is the place where premiers of the new Hollywood films are shown. Hollywood Boulevard is know for its Star Alley. Hollywood Bowl is an open-air concert ground.
Beverly Hills is a district of the private villas of rich men. Luxurious estates are symbols of the star status of their inhabitants. Everyone who has reached a high lever of popularity almost must have an accommodation in Beverly Hills.
Los Angeles is a city with warm weather all year round. Malibu, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach are ideal for taking sun baths, surfing or any other water sports.
