When you start Domaining you may think it is a good idea to register new domain names because they are much cheaper and easier to acquire. In reality it is better to buy a domain name from someone that has already most of the promotion for it. This is the best way to acquire domain names because the domain most likely already has traffic and is hopefully making some money.

New Domains
There are many domains that still are available for you to purchase but they require much more work than the ones you can purchase from other investors. New domains will not have any traffic going to them, which means you have to promote it in order to make money off of it. Another reason not to register new domains, especially if you are new to domain investing, is that you might not know how which domains are worth the most. Don't worry this can be learned by reading forums and articles about Domaining.

Pre-Registered Domains
Pre-registered domains are really the best way to go. These domains typically have most of the work done already and you just sit back and enjoy the passive income. When you are looking to buy these domains you can learn a lot about the way domains are priced. Pre-registered domains are sold by either a domain broker or by the investor that owns it.

Expired Domains
Expired domains is another market in the Domaining industry. These are domains that the owner either let expire willingly or forgot to renew it. As an investor you can acquire these domains at amazingly low prices. Most of these domains had a website that it was pointing to and may be getting traffic already. There are many websites that you can acquire expired domains from, all you have to do is search Google or your favorite search engine for "Expired Domains".

Hopefully this article helped you in some way. The next article in the series is going to be about domain parking and developing mini-sites. - Small Web Biz Info
