Getting over a break up is never easy. You can't get your head straight and you can't think straight. These tips would hopefully help you weather the storm you are currently experiencing.
1. Give Yourself Time To Be Miserable.
This is especially important if the break up had been ugly. Some experts would tell you to go out and shake those negative emotions off. But I think you would be better off if you give yourself a time to cry and be miserable even for a day during “aftermath” of your break up. Pour out all the pent up emotions inside you. You don’t know it yet but after you have done “your thing”, you will feel lighter and a bit sedated instead of trying to contain all the tears inside.
2. Give Yourself Time To Heal.
Now, you need to remember that no amount of self-pity could ever bring the past back. And asking yourself, “Where did you go wrong?” a hundred times will never make it better. Resign to the fact that you have broken up not because it was entirely your fault but because you had differences.
Spend a whole day pampering yourself. Take a long hot bath. Take as long as you want without thinking of the time. No rush. It’s all yours. This will relax your nerves and help you think straight.
3. Give Yourself The Gift Of Fitness.
Go start on a fitness regimen. I suggest you go for a run or a long walk. This is a positive way of burning not only the fat but also all that pent up energy from inside you. This would be a good time to consider picking a sport. This activity will help keep you pre-occupied, do you good inside out and slowly teach your heart how to get over your ex.
Getting over a break up is never easy. Nobody said it is. But it is not that hard either if you focus on loving yourself more especially while you weather the storm.
