I got the sweetest PDF via email this week: a photo of the White House and a photo of Barack Obama with instructions to cut out the photo of Obama and slide it into the White House.
Those of us who have lived and breathed this presidential election cycle from the early announcements through the primaries and now into the general election have done a whole lot to make this election a living, breathing entity. We've made phone calls, we've canvassed, we've given our money.
Those of us who make spiritual practice a vital part of our lives know that there is truth in the instruction to specify--and surrender. We've reached the day of spiritual surrender, dear one.
We've done our prayers, our affirmations, our visualizations. We've spoken our word. We've seen Barack Obama in the White House.
There's only one more step. Be still and know that Barack Obama lives in the White House.
Some spiritual teachers recommend the practice of gratitude at this point. Gratitude is good, but for me, it's time to withdraw my attention from the pundits and the polls, get out of the fighting for the White House energy that has permeated this campaign season, let go the idea of any sort of opposition at all.
It's time to be still . . . it's time to know . . .
that Barack Obama lives in the White House because he's the President of the United States of America.
