How To Help Stuttering

Do you stutter? If you do, you are just like a large amount of people in this world looking for answers on how to help stuttering. Unfortunately, there are not many resources available for people with this problem. Because of this, having a stuttering problem can make a person feel like there is no hope or cure. However, thousands of people have learned ways to improve fluency in their speech and even how to stop stuttering completely. If you keep a positive attitude, and don't give up you can too!

The first step on how to help stuttering, is to overcome the fears and bad habits that hold us prison. You should try to stop hiding the fact that you stutter from others as well as yourself. In my opinion, this is crucial and the most important step. This will give you a new found power and the ability to change it.

Recognize the fact that nobody is perfect, even the most fluent speakers stutter at times. Overcome any shame or embarrassment you may feel about it. You will be surprised to learn that the less you worry about your stuttering, the less it will actually happen. By just focusing on what you want to say and just saying it, you will relieve a heavy and distracting burden off of yourself.

Don't avoid saying the words you have trouble with. By tackling these "problem words" head on, they will eventually get easier. Don't be afraid to take your time, and emphasize each syllable to achieve the correct pronunciation.

Remember, every sentence you speak out loud without fear is an accomplishment in itself.
