Stretch marks are a skin problem that although is not malign and does not cause anything dangerous to your health, it is very unsightly and it affects the self confidence of women especially when they are young and don't want to go outside due to their marks.

However stretch marks affect men and women equally, in fact 40% of men are affected with this skin problem. Some people believe that stretch marks are caused by rapid weight gain or weight loss, but it also affects pregnant women and bodybuilders that increase their muscles very quickly.

Is also believed by experts that stretch marks are cause by some kind of hormonal activity. The fact is that over stretching of the skin makes collagen fibers to disrupt and elasticity is broken, thus marks are formed.

If you want to lose stretch marks quickly you can just cover them up with a cream filler or make up to make them less noticeable and don't worry about what other people will think.

However if you want to get rid of your stretch marks you may want to try a laser treatment or dermabrasion. I have heard of people that have had great results with laser treatments in removing stretch marks completely, but it is expensive and requires several session to see the results. Also be warned that it can be painful, so you must consult your doctor.

Over the counter creams are another option to lose stretch marks, if used regularly you can see significant improvements and make your marks much less noticeable. When choosing a cream you must be skeptical of most of them, because there is a lot of hype in the market and most creams don't work effectively.

The best option for your skin is to use natural creams that dont not contain harsh substances or synthetic ingredients. Some of the best natural ingredients that reduce marks are jojoba oil, shea butter, vitamin e, vitamin k and Functional keratin that improves collagen production.
