Hi my name is Lucy and I own an established business in Beauty therapy, nails and alternative health which I have been running for 2 years and love my job. I have been in the beauty industry for over ten years and have trained to an advanced therapist level with Decleor in London. I get to see lots of different people of whom I get to know well and have become regular clients. I offer a mobile wedding makeup service as well as working in my salon located in Horley near Gatwick, Surrey. I enjoy visiting brides to help make there special day run smoothly and their makeup to look perfect.
I offer makeup trials for clients so they have a full 2 hours of exclusive time to discuss ideas and have their makeup done when they are 100% happy with their look I make notes and take photos to show them. The bride has the opportunity to appear in the online portfolio too to show their friends and family their wonderful wedding day makeup before the big day. I am all too aware of how expensive a wedding can be so try to make wedding packages and prices affordable for all kinds of budgets.
My Day working as a mobile makeup artist
I get up early and travel to the bride's home or venue to do the makeup for the bride and bridal party. This is lovely because I can share their excitement on the big day by helping to prepare them and look great. On a typical day I will makeup several members of the bridal party. I arrive to set up my makeup and am quickly ready to start the first bridesmaid. I am careful to cover any imperfections or spots and apply the foundation using a cosmetic sponge. I use a water resistant and perspiration proof product which creates an absolutely flawless finish without looking thick, heavy, caked or creased. After the base I set the foundation with a light setting powder which keeps the face looking velvety smooth and helps it stay put for the rest of the wedding day and evening.
Next I do the eye makeup blusher and lip stick.
I have a wide range of pure colour mineral powders which I can mix to create any tone and shade of one particular colour. The makeup can blend in or match a colour theme of the wedding which can look striking and compliments the whole bridal party. The eye makeup is blended and mixed on an artist's pallet for each individual client so their makeup is unique.
The blusher is one of the best effects for changing the shape of the face or adding a glow or cheekbones or a bronzed sun kissed look.
Lastly the lipstick adds that finishing touch the clients have a choice of shimmer, gloss or matte effect lipstick and can take a sample with them for the evening after they have eaten if they need to apply a touch up.
When all the makeup's have been done I am at hand to help the bride get dressed it is especially useful for the mother of the bride to have a helping hand if the bride has a lace up dress needing two people at times to lace up the bodice!!
It is so lovely to see everyone ready in their dresses with their makeup done which completes the look!!
