Drivers are being warned not to cut down on the cost of their car insurance when it comes to purchasing or renewing their policy.
The credit crunch has meant that many people have been worrying about their finances and to try and save money, many people have started to cut back on their policies that they think they won't need.
This information has come as a result of a study which found that 50 per cent of the people in the UK are trying to save money by reducing the amount of money they are spending on financial products. As well as this, around 2% of people are planning to cut out their car insurance policy completely. On hearing this, the British Insurance Broker's Association has advised that cancelling car insurance policies is definitely not the answer, as it is a legal requirement for a driver to have. A spokesman for the association stated: "If you are going to review your insurances there are some that you should keep and some that you perhaps don't need." A policy that you really do need is your car insurance.
However, if you are finding that your insurance is setting you back a lot then the best thing to do may be to get online and start comparing different car insurance policies. By searching the internet you may find that you find much better deals than you are on at the moment and that will save you a lot more money. By putting the money aside that you have saved by finding cheap car insurance you will be able to save up for something that you’ve wanted such as a much needed holiday. It has also been discovered that people have been cutting back on their travel insurance in an attempt to save money for their holidays. This is also not a good idea because by doing this you will be running the risk of paying out thousands if you were to have an accident whilst you were away.
