Hand Controls

Whether you are disabled or just need that extra helping hand around the house and office, hand controls will be around to help. These devices can be as complex as a mechanical robot that does all your work for you to as simple as a stick with a pulley handle attached.

Equipment With Hand Controls

These devices are more commonly known to someone who is disabled than to someone who is not. They can be of help in many different ways. Hand controls may help you grab a cup out of the cupboard or take laundry out of the machine. Using one of these devices should not be too hard for most people.

You cannot purchase these items in any store they need to be ordered and then delivered to your household after begin specially made.

Not everyone who needs hand controls has to pay for them out of their own pocket. No, we are not talking about stealing! People who have insurance or medicaid will have to pay very little if anything for their hand controls.

Technical Support For Hand Controls

After purchasing your hand controls, learning how to use and take care of them is the next important step. Most of the devices are self-explanatory when it comes to using them, but others are more complicated. Make sure that you read the manual; most companies send their controls with a reader friendly manual that will lay out the ground rules very clearly.

Do You Need Hand Controls

Keep in mind that you are not considered disabled if you are a lazy bum and your legs and arms fell asleep for those four hours that you were watching television (please do not attempt)! Even still, some people still tend to order these items for their own personal uses. In this case when personal uses are said, it means you use a handle that is attached to a stick to grab your remote!

There are many people who need to have hand controls in order to function easily in everyday life. Whether it is from not being able to get your coffee mug from the cupboard in the morning to being able to do laundry, they will be there to help you master difficult tasks that you would be otherwise unable to do.

Hand controls have also been made to help you in the car while driving. These hand controls are usually attached to the bottom of the steering wheel, so it does not give you any discomfort. When you need it, you pull it out (it is usually right on top of your knees at this point) and take what you need.

After you use what you needed, you can slip it right back under the steering wheel. So you are all set and did not even have to put anything together to use. Depending on what company you purchased your device from, they will even come and install it for you.
