A new study has been conducted recently that has revealed the drivers who may be more likely to pay more for their car insurance policies.
The research was conducted by a leading price comparison website who found that men named James seemed to be the most reckless drivers behind the wheel, with 31 per cent admitting that they had received motoring convictions.
They also found that the second most likely drivers to cause problems on the roads were called Daniel.
All in all, around 18 per cent of motorists had admitted to the site that at one time or another, they had gotten into trouble with the traffic police.
The study also revealed that women named Lucy were found to be the most likely females to have received driving convictions and that six per cent of them had broken the law whilst they had been driving.
The comparison site also pointed out that those who don’t keep their driving licences clear could face the prospect of not being able to get access to cheap car insurance.
A spokesman for the site said that on average those with points on their licence could see their insurance premiums increase dramatically, so much so that those with three points on their licence could see the cost rise by around seven per cent, those with six points could see it rise by around 25 per cent and those with nine points could see the cost of their car insurance rise by as much as 50 per cent.
On a separate note, the site also warned motorists to prepare their car for some very cold weather by making sure that their car batteries are well-charged, especially before any long journeys that you have to make.
