The new technology from Motorola is set to allow mobile phone users to draft e-mails and text messages by drawing out letters on a specially designed keypad.



Finger writing technology is just one of a number of mooted developments in the market, following on from proposed developments such as voice activated security, touch screen technology, mobile TV and a host of other rumoured additions. With the continued advancement of the marketplace such developments come as no surprise with the major mobile phone manufacturers seeking to outdo each other with features and functions with each generation of handset that comes along. Motorola's announcement, which came at a symposium organised by the firms' R&D institute in China, could potentially change the way that text messages are composed and sent via mobile phone and has been awarded the Asian Innovation Gold Award.
