What is vital and what is not? What is important and what is not? These questions accompany us since we get conscious about life values and since we decide and choose these values for ourselves. Most people say that to be happy they basically need comfortable conditions, feeling of security, and self-realization which means quite various things for different people. For some self-realization comes with their family, for others in the course of career promotion. Anyway, most people do not put extremely high criteria for being happy. Why then we are so frequently distressed?

The interesting thing is that we are frustrated with trifles. We may get quite upset because of need to mend our PC or even because of lost internet connection or because of necessity to write a college essay and being at a loss prefer custom research paper. We feel nervous when we get into a traffic jam. Of course, such small things do bring discomfort to our daily activities. But are they so significant to make us out of balance? Do such trifles mean more than health of our family or mutual understanding in relations? No, they don't. But such trifles bring a lot of frustration, and, as a result, become a source for stress www.mountolivecollege.edu/downloads/pdf/STRESS.pdf. Stresses are not merely subject to psychological research, they go with us from day to day. No person in developed countries would probably hesitate to answer what stress is. A huge number of scholars examine this phenomenon and try to find some way out. But any person should make individual efforts to struggle with common stresses over common things. The point is to learn how to ignore small troubles and concentrate on small pleasures. There are definitely a lot of positive things in the life of each person; however, we sometimes prefer to forget about them while taking a thorough note of any unpleasant event or thing. The life of every person has some core, which may be embodied in a good family or favorite activity etc. That should be an anchor and an indicator of happiness, rather than broken PC or missed meeting.

People tend to limit themselves. We sometimes prefer to feel depressed over something rather than seek for new options. "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us", Helen Keller once said. Indeed, we should look for new prospects of being happy or satisfied instead of focusing on lost chances or unpleasant trifles.
