How times are changing..From time immemorial, the main pre-occupation among employees was finding a secure position in a reputable firm where time alone will take you up the career ladder, where you had ample free time to pursue your hobbies and were your job would last forever. Colleagues at work ….. Faces one sees every day, five days a week, became soul mates who you shared your innermost thoughts with, including the most cunning way to screw the best deal out of your employer.
Most, but not everything has changed. The pressures of modern day living with its spiraling costs and limitless choices, have certainly had their impact on the outlook to life and work in particular. Add to this much higher numbers taking higher or specialist education and greater competition for jobs, and you have an end product that is more aggressive, more selfish in their pursuits, and more willing to have a go.

Meantime, competitiveness on the high streets and the narrowing of profit margins means that employers offering good salaries will if necessary expect these to be hard earned, … anything so long as they come. Productivity must be high; pressure for revenues to continue streaming in will be continuous while the pruning of costs will be ongoing ….. Standards will not be compromised. This is today's fast lane. Go off track and you'll suddenly find difficulty keeping up with your peers. It's a tough environment and many will fall by the wayside, those that are successful in an organization will have sound foundations, many will move up the ladder by swapping and changing employers and even job types, and others will break out on their own 'to have a go'. What then? – only time will tell.

And despite this rat race, ultimately it is still the team effort that wins … everyone pulling the same rope, striving towards the same objectives. And on achievement of even the smallest successes, recognition, genuine satisfaction, and reward at the end.

How odd it is therefore, that with these seismic changes taking place there are still those who act like their forefathers, who believe you can get the best people to work for you by basing your selection process for new recruits, as favors to others or on the 'I know best' model.

Knowing and analyzing exactly what you need and want is the employer's first challenge. Then you need time - time to access and attract various staff; time to see them all, time to assess their previous records, time to asses their characteristics ………….. Which is where we come in.

MHCS – Malta Hotel & Catering Services ltd. was established in 1995 by its present Managing Director, Mr. Anthony J. Gatt - whose expertise lies in the Hotel Sector - to meet the need for a professional staffing and recruitment hospitality service. MHCS has cemented its position as a leader in the field of staffing and recruitment of hoteliers, through its clear customer focus and attention to detail.

Present Recruitment Division Manager - Mrs. Stefania Pace, has now also opened up to all markets, providing its trademark quality standard of service to both clients and candidates for all types of establishments and any type of vacancy. Stefania also comes from a Hospitality background having worked in Hotels both locally and in the UK.

'If a company rightly believe that success largely depends on people quality, the time devoted to searching and selecting the right candidate for any position should never be the reason for having made the wrong choice.'

The service provided by MHCS is a more cost effective way of overcoming staffing and recruitment difficulties. MHCS is dedicated to establishing an ongoing relationship with clients to locate the most suitably qualified and experienced employees to fill their vacancies.
The first and most important step is to review the establishments' overall plan if there is one and their specific requirements which helps MHCS gather information on specific needs, style of operation, obtaining a job profile, job description, terms and conditions of employment and other relevant information.

All candidates are pre-screened and applicants are short-listed before being presented for an interview. This provides establishments with high-calibre individuals, saving time and money, which may be, used elsewhere, instead of ploughing through unsuitable CVs. On the basis of the professional and personal experiences of our specialists and thanks to modern computer equipment, MHCS can easily select qualified specialists in accordance with the establishments' requirements in the shortest time.

MHCS is also committed to its candidates, meeting up with them to assess and thoroughly understand the job channels they want to pursue and trying to guide them in the right choice for them. Career choices can be tough, there are a bewildering number of jobs out there and the decision will be particularly hard if one is unsure about the direction one wants to head in.

In addition to the Recruitment Division, MHCS has also established itself in Training and Quality Assurance which incorporates a number of products including HACCP and Mystery Guest Services, - products taken care of by Mr. Vincent Lungaro Mifsud. MHCS Training Division strives to provide memorable training experiences in order to play a leading role to develop quality in personnel engaged in the tourist related sectors, however, its sister company, New Training Dynamics Limited extends its range of training to industry, commerce and financial services and is the only company on Malta that can qualify delegates in Neuro Linguistic Programming.

MHCS Limited sees its role as one that provides quality services especially in the field of HR and no matter the situation, MHCS will present the solutions.
