My battle cry on the golf course for many years was to avoid the sand traps at all costs.
At least by practicing several golf tips whenever I found myself in the sand, I have been able to live with and improve my golf game from the sandy soil. Some of the golf tips for this are:
1- When looking for a good practice range, look for one that has a sand trap for practice in order to work on your sand play.
2- When setting up for your sand shot, pick the best spot you want to have the ball land on the green.
3- Open the clubface with the grip before you get ready to prepare for the great sand shot.
4- Your clubface should touch down several inches before the ball and slide underneath it for the most consistent sand play.
5- If you have a good lie in the sand, mentally pretend that this is just a routine chip shot to accomplish.
Practice the golf tips for good sand play and plop a few balls down in the sand at the practice range so that the next time you are in the sand it will be fun to play in the sand with confidence.
See you at the beach.
