Victoria is a city in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is, in fact, the capital of that province. With a total population of about 74,000 people, Victoria is the thirteenth most populous city in the province.

On a side note, two-time NBA MVP Steve Nash grew up in Canada. So did pop-star Nelly Furtado and filmmaker Michael Moore.

Victoria usually enjoys temperate weather, with both mild summers and winters. It almost never snows in Victoria, although it does happen from time to time. Its agreeable climate has earned Victoria the title the "City of Gardens."

Victoria has some of the rarest garden plants in the entire country of Canada. With mild temperature and lots of sunshine, even the most delicate of plants can grow here. Rare species of palms, eucalyptus, and even the banana are found in abundance in the city. Some plants, such as garry oak and the hairy manzanita, are nowhere else to be found in Canada, but can be found in Victoria.

Shoppers are well-advised to find Downtown Victoria hotels. Downtown Victoria has an incredible array of shopping opportunities. Aside from the famous Antique Row on Fort Street, Victoria have about 11 other shopping centers. Seasoned bargain-hunters will have the time of their life here. On Government Street, you can browse the many gift shops as street performers serenade you with songs.

The attractions of Victoria do not stop with its shopping districts. The Undersea Gardens showcases fish of all shapes and sizes, as well as anemones, shellfish, and other marine life. The Royal London Wax Museum, on the other hand, shows you eerily lifelike replicas of some of the most iconic figures of our time, such as Marilyn Monroe or Michael Jackson. Meanwhile, the Crystal Gardens and Miniature World allow you to enjoy the time-honored British tradition of afternoon tea. If you are more culturally inclined, be sure to visit the world famous Royal British Columbia Museum. In your quest to enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria, don't forget to make proper plans, including finding the best hotels in Victoria BC for you.
