When established
Vacheron Constantin in 1755, Jean-Marc Vacheron looked for a good place to exhibit watches and to live. At that time, old town of Geneva appealed to both watchmakers and Cabinotiers because there customer could privately discuss their need and request about the watches with watchmakers.
In 1843, Vacheron Constantin moved to Tour de L’lle from Quai des Bergues after several years’ running there. As the business became bigger and bigger, Jean Francois entrusted Elysee Goss, a well-known architect, to build Constantin’s headquarter in 1 quai des Moulins adjacent to L’lle. The project was completed in 1875.
On August 1st, 1906, Vacheron Constantin opened its first Specialty Store in Rue des Moulins. Now, this Specialty Store still welcomes Genevese and visitors from all over the world with hundreds of masterpieces exhibited there. Those celebrities who have visited Vacheron Constantin Specialty Store include: King of Egypt Farouk, Prince of the Aga Khan, Patiala of India, King of Egypt Fouad, Edward Price of Wales and so on. In 2005, Vacheron Constantin decided to move its headquarter and factory to a epoch-making building, designed by Tschumi Urbanistes Architectes, located in Plan les quates. And architect Eric Maria took charge of the refurbishment of Constantin Flagship Shop Mansion which is located in rue des Moulins, L’lle, heart zone of Geneva. In the commodious and quiet specialty store, customers can admire the latest watches designed by Vacheron Constantin or discuss customised design with specialists while in cultural relics zone on first floor, visitors can get some knowledge about Vacheron Constantin’s watchmaking history and tradition through visiting brand muniment room and Vacheron Constantin library , watching videos about watchmaking craftsmanshipwork and technique
