Parmigiani is able to develop and produce movement itself and once launched chronograph watches. But it did not have in-house movement till
Kalpagraph Chronograph which carried Pamigiani’s first in-house Cal.334 automatic movement. Kalpagraph first appeared in early 2007. In 2007 Geneva, Parmigiani launched more new models to complete Kalpagraph, including the diamond ladies model.
Kalpagraph diamond ladies model features either 18k rose gold case or 950 porpezite case. Porpezite, nowadays, becomes more and more popular as a case-making precious metal. It has higher purity than 750 gold and is harder than many other precious metals. What is more, it is much lighter than platinum and will not cause skin allergies. Having a particular lustre at surface, porpezite will not be oxidized or fade upon exposure to the air.Though, it is, just like platinum, very difficult to refine and forge porpezite, more and more watch brands try to apply partizite on watch-making procedures. Parmigiani, of course, is one of the first brands that adopts porpezite on watch-making.
The bezel of diamond ladies model is set with 154 diamonds(amount to 5.65 carats), which goes well with either coffee or purple dial. Carrying on the dial characteristics of Kalpagraph series, the chronograph subdials at 6 and 9 o’clock have their own color and form an “8”-shaped frame. Chinese customers may be satisfied with this design.
Besides 18k rose gold and 950 porpesite,
Kalpagraph men watches is available in stainless steel case matching with stainless steel bracelet that mixed with polished and brushed treatment. The stainless steel model features two chronograph pusher buttons that are more protruded than that of rose gold model. It is conjectured this protruded design has something to do with Parmigiani’s active parts in fire ballon activitiesin recent years. As those participators have wear gloves, the protruded design make it possible for them to operate the chronograph without taking out of gloves.
