Opus, first launched in 2001, has long become a series of works that is highly anticipated every year. Cooperating with different independent watch-makers, it has developed, up to now, 8 models and has written an extraordinary watch-making page with innovation and craftsmanship for
Harry Winston.
Opus 7 released in 2007 is regarded as the benchmark work of the re-orientation of Opus. The past Opus models are focus on either sophisticated craftsmanship or avant-garde watch-making idea. Opus 7, quite differently, opens a brand-new era with simplified beauty while keeps novel innovation and consistent high-standard watch-making craftsmanship of Harry Winston. Independent watch-maker Andreas Strehle took charge of the design of Opus 7. To perfectly express simplest and purest aesthetic sense on the skeleton dial that exposing movement parts, he had to reconsider the size and arrangement of every parts. Inspired by architectural structure, he created an integrated bridge looking like a pair of flying butterfly wings and thus seamlessly combined movement with dial. On one hand , This design is visual pleasing, simple and smooth; On the other hand, it has steady supporting ability.
Opus presents its surprising creativity with unique time-telling display method. To know the time , you have to press the watch crown. At first press, the blue marking at 12 will convert into “H” and the dial at 2 will rotate to the current hour numeral in white; At the second press, the blue marking will change into “M’ and the dial will rotate to the current minute numeral in blue; And the like, the dial will display power reserve status in the same way at the third press.
The white gold round case of
Opus 7 is inspired by Ocean series and perfectly echoes with the simple movement, just like a tailored frame for a piece of outstanding work of art. Adverse to traditional design, the distance between movement and glass is almost zero, which makes you feel you could touch the rhythm of movement with your fingers. The case, 45mm at diameter, receives rhodium plating treatment and has equipped with sapphire crystal glass at front and back. It is water resistant to 30 meters.
Opus 7, combining simple aesthetics, great creativity and exquisite craftsmanship, once again, shows Harry Winston’s distinctive vision into
wristwatch. Really looking forwars to the coming Opus 9 this year.
