Jersey is a picturesque island to the south of Great Britain. Part of the British Channel islands, it is a heady mix of impressive natural beauty with quaint Old World charm. Hence, it remains a beehive of activity in the travel and hospitality sectors round the year. These sectors attract a large number of skilled professionals. However, there are growing opportunities in other new Jersey jobs as well.

For many years, to people around the world, Jersey meant just a getaway from the pressures of urban living. It conjured up the image of a very popular holiday spot. However, there are other areas too in which the island has been making remarkable progress. For example, the state government has initiated several steps to showcase Jersey's stunning geography in an eco-friendly manner. This brand of environment-friendly tourism has created the need for qualified men and women who understand the need to protect the environment while benefiting from it.

People in business are quite aware of Jersey's position as a preferred destination for offshore investment funds. This has created a plethora of opportunities in banking and financial services. Young educated professionals can make a fulfilling career in these new Jersey jobs. The range of jobs available includes accounting, taxation, management consulting, legal, secretarial and back office processing. The type of employment could be permanent or temporary.

Besides the above sectors, there are jobs available in telecommunications, retail, construction, graphic design and fashion design. The state government has made heavy investment in education. It would bear fruit only when the educated youth of the island find gainful employment. A disconcerting factor has been the inadequate preparation for the job market. As a result, many are not employable. The recruitment agencies often conduct training and mentoring initiatives to hone the aptitude and skills of the youth. Hence, they face up to the new Jersey jobs with confidence.
